Attorney, minister, and life coach writing honest stories about ambition, desire, faith, and becoming fully yourself
“Who is he, and what is he to you?” - Bill Withers
I’m Jamal, a lifelong writer and speaker who never grew out of loving big questions. I grew up on debate teams and oratorical contests, turned school papers into little treatises, and somehow made straight‑A overachieving my comfort zone.
Today I do that same kind of deep thinking as a lawyer, minister, and life coach—only now the stakes are higher and the stories are real. Legal briefs taught me discipline; the courtroom, the pulpit, and the coaching chair taught me how much people are carrying that they never say out loud.
Here I write about what it means to be fully human: ambition and burnout, faith and doubt, sexuality and shame, money and meaning, failure and starting again. I write from my own life as an openly bisexual man, father, son, ex-husband, psychic, minister, and professional overachiever who is still learning how to be a whole person.
If you’re a high-functioning, deeply feeling person who’s tired of pretending you’re fine, you’re in the right place. Follow along—and if something here speaks to you, I’d love to hear from you.
